Bricklayer | a tradesman who lays bricks as well as blocks using various kinds of bonds to construct walls, partitions, arches and other complex decorative structures which may include repair to existing brickwork. |
Plasterer/Pavior | a tradesman who applies one or more coats of various kinds of plaster to walls of buildings to produce a specified finish as well as applies a protective and decorative covering of plaster or render to building surfaces. This may include fixing wire mesh or other retaining materials to exterior surfaces before plastering as well as installing plaster cornice and mouldings. |
Tiler | a tradesman who sets tiles to surface walls and floors according to specified designs; which may include applying plaster coat and cement mortar layer, laying tiles in rows in cement according to pattern and tapping them into place and aligning rows of tiles by the use of spirit level. He/She may also require laying paving stones, bricks, wood blocks, mosaic panels, marble blocks, parquet flooring and terrazzo finishes. |
Concretor | a tradesman who mixes sand, cement, water and aggregates on site to make concrete. |
Bar-bender | a tradesman who cuts and bends metal bars and fixes them in concrete forms (shuttering) to reinforced concrete. The work includes jointing of bars together with wires or fasteners or by welding, placing bars in forms and fixes them in position and reinforces concrete with wire mesh. |
Carpenter-Formwork | a carpenter that specialises in formwork, a wooden frame of a building, including walls, floors, stairs and columns that support lofts or decks, formed and used to pour concrete for new construction. |
Carpenter-Joinery | a carpenter whose work involves making things by joining pieces of wood to produce items such as interior and exterior doors, windows, stairs, tables, bookshelves, etc. Joinery can be seen as that timber work installed or fitted after. |
Painter–building | one who performs painting process for protective coatings and covers buildings and the like, with paint. |
Roofer | specialises in roof construction, concentrating on the application of materials that water proof and/or weather proof buildings, designed material—as a substrate for the roofing materials to be installed on. Roofer involves in roof structure, roof insulation, roof finishes and in many cases roof gutter. |
Plumber | a tradesperson who specialises in installing, repairing and maintaining systems used for potable (drinking) water, sewage, and drainage. He/She locates and marks positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors. |
Scaffolder | a person who erects and dismantles scaffolding that provides temporary platform used to elevate and support workers and materials during work on a structure. |
Building wiring installer | a person who capable of installing electrical wiring and related electrical equipment in buildings and other structures independently as prescribed by a competent electrical wireman (person Suruhanjaya Bekalan Elektrik (JBE) competent certificate). |
General Welder | a tradesman who specialises in welding materials together. The materials to be joined can be metals (such as steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel etc.) |
Steel structure fabricator | a tradesman who fabricates steel structure from raw materials that have been designed, cut, and burned, shaped, machined and welded to form the steel structure. |
Electrical Wireman PW2 | a competent person certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga for single phase (low voltage distribution) related activities including testing endorsement. |
Electrical Wireman PW4 | a competent person certified for three (3) phase (high voltage distribution) related activities including testing endorsement. |
