EFFECTIVE DATA MANAGEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY: BREAKING THE ‘PRODUCTIVITY PUZZLE’

The Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP), launched in September 2015, calls for the utilisation of process driver to increase the industry’s productivity and efficiency as well as to reduce the overall construction costs. One of the six initiatives under the Productivity thrust of the CITP outlines the enhanced availability of strategic information to conduct mission-critical analyses.

Answering this call, the 2nd installation of the Statistics, Indices in Construction & Automation (SICA) 2016 is designed to serve as a platform for various stakeholders across the construction supply chain such as construction contractors, consultants, developers, finance & economic researchers, to discuss the matter at hand and to address possible challenges as well as collating ideas and aspiration on the way forward. SICA 2016 brings to you a half day forum which allows for round-table discussions with subject matter specialists in the matter of building materials, statistics, costing and many more.



OBJECTIVES

Create awareness on the current statistics and indices practice and applications available in market and how the industry can contribute towards and benefits from it
Provide a platform for the industry stakeholders to highlight and discuss on the latest development and challenges in collecting data on statistics and indices in construction
Promote the importance of credible and reliable data in establishing a benchmark that will contribute to an evidence based policy formulation and business planning
